  1. TO ALL OF YOU THAT VOTED NAY ON THIS BILL……
    THANK YOU
    THANK YOU
    THANK YOU
    THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. any moron could see that on news that the bailout plan would pass the stock market went up and on bad news it went down, how can it be good news that millions of americans are going to lose money on their retirement accounts. I wish god would take every single person that voted nay on the bailout and we could have another vote.I believe that in the long run the government could have made money on the bailout accounts.

  3. Clarence, you are an idiot. Why would you want the government to make money at YOUR EXPENSE? YOU would be footing this $700 BILLION DOLLAR BAILOUT. YOU WOULD BE PAYING.

While it sucks that people are losing money in their retirement accounts (myself included), it was better the bill didn’t pass. Did you even read it? They wanted all that money UNCHECKED and non-reviewable. Why do you think its ok to bail out wall street for being greedy?

FYI, Lehman Bros (I think?) CEO got his “severence pay” for doing his job….guess what that was….18 MILLION.

  4. The reaction to not passing the bill proves that the decision was the right one. When did we become a dictatorship where a government worker says that we cannot hold him responsible for his actions. Who does he think he is Cheney?
The bill should be scripted in a manner that leaves the money in the treasury as a show of our confidence in these whoring busineses to straighten up their mess. This may require years with no dividends or huge bonuses and the possible removal of some of the CEO’s by their boards or stockholders but why not? I’m sure that we the little guy didn’t cause this fiasco and see no reason that we should
bail them out. The sky is not falling.
